FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION OF INNER TELEPHONY

PRACTICE 2:   FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION OF INNER TELEPHONY

The objective of this practical one is to realise on the scale model of practices, an inner installation of telephony in which it is possible easily to be changed to the configuration of lines and takings of user associated to them.

He is quite frequent that in a company contracts several lines. Also it is common that they are wanted to put more rosettes, or to change the connection of these to different lines. The ideal for these cases, is to realise at the outset the installation of the most complete wiring possible and to make later the changes of configuration in a telephone distributor.

In this practice we are going to consider that we have 2 connected telephone lines to two PTRs or to a PTR with capacity to two lines. Also we have 3 rosettes that we will be able to connect to anyone of the two lines in the telephone distributor.

ELEMENTS TO USE:

  • Board for telephony practices.
  • Distributor IDC for 3 strips of 10 pairs.
  • 2 strips of telephony of 10 pairs.
  • Cable of telephony of 2 threads.
  • Threads of telephony to realise bridges.
  • Tool of cuts and insertion.
  • Other tools (screwdrivers, pliers of cut, scissors)

Distributor (or distributor) IDC of telephony

In figure 1 we can observe a telephone distributor with his cover, that is provided of portaregletas for the assembly of three strips IDC.

In our case we will only mount two in the ends leaving empty the power station. For it we only must hole the ball the grooves that there are in the ends of the strips with the corresponding lodgings of portaregletas and to press the strip until the clipajes enter.

OPERATIVE PROCESS:

figure 2 it shows how it must be the board once finished the installation.

Figure 2

STEP 1:

To mount the distributor in the board, next to the PTR, according to figure 3.

Figure 3

STEP 2:

To place the two strips of 10 pairs in the lodgings superior and inferior of portaregletas, leaving frees the central lodging (to observe figure 4).

.

STEP 3:

To connect the telephone lines from the PTR to the strip superior of the distributor. As it is possible to be observed in figure 4 to pass the cable below the strip superior to connect its threads in the lodgings superiors of pairs 1 and 2 (figure 5: positioning of threads of line 1 to pair 1 of the strip).

Next, to connect threads in the strip by means of the tool of cuts and insertion. To pay special attention so that the part of the scissors of the tool is on the inside of the strip, as one is in figure 6.

STEP 4:

To connect the rosettes in pairs 1, 2 and 3 of underneath the strip inferior of the distributor. To pass cables surrounding the distributor to have sufficient length in future modifications. In figure 7 this connection can be seen, although it uses pairs 4 and 5. We will use pairs 1, 2 and 3.

STEP 5:

To realise the necessary bridges through the inner pairs of the strips so that rosettes 1 and 3 are connected to the line 1 and rosette 2 is connected to line 2, according to is indicated in figure 8.

STEP 6:

To verify the correct operation of the installation.
