Make Your Yard Beautiful Without Spending Your Life Landscaping!

If you own a home, isn’t it the same old shindig each spring? You know the drill, yard work, yard work, yard work! Right? It’s fun at first, but then, after a few days, and a few dozen or so hours, it gets tiring.

Here are some tips on how to alleviate some of your yard work duties, without having to sacrifice on that beautiful landscape that makes your home stand out among those in your neighborhood.

First of all, don’t pull weeds manually. It’s amazing how many people are still doing this. Get weed killer. There is a wide variety, and some of them will prevent the weeds from re-growing, at least not as quickly as they would normally.

Still using the old hedge trimmers that look like a giant pair of scissors, and feeling a bit like Johnny Depp in the movie “Edward Scissorhands” when you do it? It’s time for a motorized hedge trimmer. Bear in mind, they weigh a little more, but you can save a lot of strain on your hands by simply holding the hedge trimmer and quickly making the bushes look gorgeous. The results are more uniform, too—and in less time! The amount of precious hours you save makes the investment more than worth it.

Painting the house by hand? Why not use a sprayer? You’ll get, again, a more professional-looking result without the hassle of rollers and brushes.

Raking up leaves and debris by hand still? Ah, that’s not the ticket! You need a leaf blower! It quickly gathers everything into a pile for you, so you can then transfer it into a bag. And then you’re done. Quick! Easy! No more back strain from raking for hours and hours!

Don’t mow the old fashioned way, if you can help it. You need a riding mower. Look for the zero-turn type, which allows you to get straight lines, and avoids turnarounds becoming a nightmare. Once you try your new riding mower, you won’t be able to understand why you ever used the old push mower! It will make mowing a joy. Instead of dreading the lawn job, you’ll look forward to it!

Bear in mind, though, that making such tasks simpler and less time-consuming doesn’t have to break the bank. There are also things you can do that are practically free. For example, get the kids involved. They may dread it as much as you do, so turn it into a game.

You could turn yard cleaning with the kids into a race to see who gets the most debris in their bag! Perhaps it could be a contest with a real reward at the end! For example, the winner could get a banana split and the other workers could get regular ice cream cones!

Another very inexpensive solution to beautifying the landscape is to purchase pre-grown flowers, ferns, and so on, and then simply re-plant. This beats planting seeds and hoping the result comes out the way you want! It’s faster, easier, and actually not that expensive!

These are a few ideas. Think outside of the box and use your imagination. Yard work can be fun, if you love yard work and have a lot of time and energy. On the other hand, just about everyone likes shortcuts so that there is more time for cookies and lemonade, perhaps a Saturday trip to the beach!
